IELTS
stands for ‘International English Language Testing System’.  The IELTS exam is an English language proficiency test for non-native speakers. The exam measures the English language ability of people who need to use English for work or study. Your IELTS score indicates your ability to use English to communicate in academic, working and social environments. Many colleges, universities, businesses and government organisations in the UK, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand use IELTS scores to assess people’s suitability for jobs and for university and college places.
IELTS exists in two formats: Academic and General Training.
The Academic modules assess your ability to study using English at undergraduate or postgraduate level.  Admission to many universities and colleges is based on the results of these modules.
The General Training modules assess your ability to use English in a broader social and educational context.  General Training is more suited to you if you are going to an English speaking country to complete your secondary education, to gain work experience or training which is not at degree level. It is also an immigration requirement for people looking to move to Australia, Canada or New Zealand.  The General Training Module is not offered at all test centres.

TOEIC®
TOEIC® stands for ’Test of English for International Communication’.
The TOEIC® exam is an English language proficiency test for
non-native speakers. It measures the English language ability of people who use English in their everyday working lives.
Your TOEIC® score indicates how well you can communicate with others in English in an international working environment. Businesses and organizations all over the world use TOEIC® scores to help them make decisions about who to employ, who to promote, and who to offer training to.

CAE
CAE stands for the Certificate in Advanced English. The CAE exam is an English-language proficiency test for non-native speakers. The exam measures the English-language ability of people who need to use English in all kinds of everyday situations.
Your CAE score indicates your ability to use English to communicate in social situations as well as in business and academic environments. Colleges, universities, businesses and government organisations in English speaking countries use CAE scores to assess people’s suitability for jobs, and for university and college places.

TOEFL
TOEFL® stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. The TOEFL® test measures the English language ability of people who need to work or study in academic environments. Your TOEFL® score indicates how well you can use English to understand and communicate ideas about academic subjects. Many colleges, universities, businesses, and government organizations in English speaking countries use TOEFL® scores to assess people’s suitability for jobs, and for university and college admissions.

FCE
FCE stands for First Certificate in English. The FCE exam is an intermediate level English language proficiency test for non-native speakers. The exam measures the English language ability of people who need to use English in everyday working situations. FCE is also useful preparation if you are working towards higher level exams, such as CAE which is the Certificate in Advanced English. FCE is a qualification recognised by universities, colleges, employers and professional bodies around the world.

GMAT
The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT, pronounced G-mat) is a standardized test for measuring aptitude to succeed academically in graduate business studies. Business schoolscommonly use the test as one of many selection criteria for admission into an MBAprogram. It is given at various locations in the United States, Canada and around the world. Throughout North America and in many international locations, the GMAT is administered only via computer. In those international locations where an extensive network of computers has not yet been established, the TEST.
GMAT is offered either at temporary computer-based testing centers on a limited schedule or as a paper-based test (given once or twice a year) at local testing centers. As of 2007, the fee to take the test is US $250 worldwide.
The GMAT exam measures basic verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills that the examinee has developed over a long period of time in his/her education and work. It does not measure specific knowledge of business, job skills, or subjective qualities such as motivation, creativity, and interpersonal skills. If a test taker's first language is not English, he or she may still perform well on the exam; however, the GMAT exam may not accurately reflect the abilities of someone whose first language is not English. Business Schoolswith a high proportion of non-native English speaking students tend to have a lower average GMAT score.
Scores are valid for five years (at most institutions) from the date the test taker sits for the exam until the date of matriculation (not until the date of application). The Stanford University Graduate School of Business website offers a "test results calculator" useful for determining the expiration date of test scores.
Before courses begin, students are tested to make sure that they are enrolling for the appropriate exam. All students are interviewed on arrival and given advice about their prospects. There are regular progress tests, individual tutorials, and a full set of mock exams.
